About Jeni:
Jeni achieved over 15 years of teaching and school supervisor experience prior to completing her Masters in International School Counselling. In her current capacity as a school counsellor, coupled with her prior safeguarding lead experience, she is passionate about advocacy, social-emotional literacy, psychoeducation for parents and teachers, trauma-informed schools, and inclusive education.
Jeni’s theoretical orientation in counselling uses a combination of Person-Centered, Solution-Focused (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and she offers individualized support tailored for each student’s unique needs and strengths. She supports young people of all ages with:
– trauma, loss, and life transitions, particularly as experienced by third culture kids in international schools
– anxiety and phobias
– self-harm, depression, and emotional dysregulation
– identity exploration and self-esteem
– neurodiversity, social skills, and communication
Jeni is a member of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association and the American Counseling Association, a committee member of the Hong Kong School Counselling Network, and presented at the International School Counselor Association (ISCA) Conference in 2023.
