Counsellor
Lucy has worked with adolescents and families extensively for the past 9 years. Prior to making Hong Kong her home, she lived in the UK, in Shanghai, and in Singapore and worked in the finance sector. Lucy began working with children through tutoring and mentorship and has enjoyed navigating through the unique challenges adolescents and their families face, from school-related anxiety and stress to family relationship dynamics.
Children and adolescents experience complex emotions yet often have difficulties expressing their feelings. Many struggle both academically and socially during their teenage years. Lucy hopes to support and help each child understand their feelings in a person-centred and non-judgemental environment by using traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as the more current Mindfulness approach to address stress and anxiety. Through counselling, Lucy hopes to help children discover their own voices and personal identities.
Lucy has completed the Master of Counselling at Monash program and the Gottman Method Couple Therapy Level 1 & 2 at the Gottman Institute.
Lucy consults in English.
