Counsellor
Joe is a caring, empathetic and insightful counsellor who creates a safe environment for his clients to develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding to sustain a stronger sense of self-awareness and to maintain strong emotional regulation to face the challenges of life and achieve the goals they set out. He takes a holistic approach to counselling, employing person-centered therapeutic techniques as well as drawing from evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (DNA V).
Joe works with adults, adolescents and children across a range of issues including bereavement, stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, self-esteem, sleep issues, self-harm, puberty and navigating relationship issues with peers and family. He has a special interest in ADHD related issues, as well as identity exploration and formation in adolescents. Joe has experience providing counselling support for children and adolescents in an international school setting (both Primary and Secondary) in Hong Kong.
Joe graduated from Hong Kong University with a Distinction in Masters in Social Sciences (Counselling). He grew up in a bi-ethnic family (English and Chinese) in Hong Kong where he attended an international school. Following this, he spent several years studying and working in the UK.
Joe provides counselling services in English.
